The Hattie and Eliza Stowe Educational Center

The Hattie and Eliza Stowe Educational Center is named in honor of Harriet Beecher Stowe’s two oldest children, twins who were born in the house in September 1836.  The center has activities for children visiting the historic house.  Children can participate in fan making, stenciling, writing with a simulated quill and ink, practice with a slate and chalk, and playing with 19th-century toys.  The room also houses a collection of books for kids and their family members to read while visiting.
